Alfredo "Pedong" Panela, 83, of Kailua, an Army veteran, died in Kailua. He was born in Haina, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Yukie; sons Andrew and Alfred Panela, and Michael Runnels; daughters June Marr, Rowena Hanson, Faye Hara, and Charlotte and Lu Ann Runnels; brother William Valera; sister Beatrice Cabral; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mililani Downtown Mortuary, 20 S. Kukui St. Services: 10:30 a.m. Committal services: 1 p.m. at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. Aloha attire.
