Soichi Akiyama, 95, of Wahiawa, an Army veteran who served in World War II in Company A, 1,399th Engineer Construction Battalion, and a retired welder at Schofield Barracks, died in Wahiawa. He was born in Lahaina. He is survived by wife Mitsuko; sonsEric and Craig; daughters Laurie Tam and Helen Rogers; brothers Toshio and Sueto; sisters Asayo Fujimoto, Sumiko Hirokane and Myra Takasaki; and a grandchild. Private services. No monetary offerings.
