Maurice Viernes, 77, of Kapolei, a heavy-equipment operator and a Marine Corps veteran, died in St. Francis Hospice-West. He was born in Hawaii. He is survived by sons Joey and Alfred, daughter Eunice Kekoa, brothers Albert Viernes and Harry Honda, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Thursday at Borthwick Mortuary. Services: 10 a.m. Inurnment: 2 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe. Aloha or casual attire. No flowers.
