KENNETH MASAO HIRAKAMI 89-year-old Honolulu-born Nisei, Army Veteran of 1399th Battalion and a retired carpenter, passed away on July 14, 2013 at his home in Monterey Park, CA. Private memorial service will be held on August 3rd at Fukui Mortuary in Los Angeles. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Maebelle Chiyoko Hirakami; children: Cheryl (Bill) Craft, Janyce (Jerry) Melnyk, Brian Hirakami and Lisa Hirakami, two grandchildren and three grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Richard Hirakami of Hawaii and many nieces, nephews and relatives. He was preceded in death by his first wife Elaine Nishihara Hirakami.
