Gladys Tomeko MiyasatoGLADYS TOMEKO MIYASATO June 12, 1928 August 9, 2013 Age 85, of Honolulu, was born in Wailuku, Maui. She was a retired clerk for the State of Hawaii, serving at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Outside of work, she previously served for many years as Secretary for the Aza Yogi Doshi Kai Okinawan Club and after retiring, also served as Secretary for the Lanakila Senior Center Okinawan Nenchosha Club. She volunteered her time to help in many club activities. Every year, you could see her working alongside her late husband at the Country Store at the Okinawan Festival. Throughout her life, family was very important to her. She lovingly cared for her elderly mother in her later years, and also cared for her late husband at the hospital. She was a great cook and at family gatherings, her vegetable and char siu noodles, and her nantu (Okinawan mochi) were a family favorite. Her family greatly loved and depended on her. They are proud of her many accomplishments and take comfort that she is now at peace and at home with our Lord Jesus Christ. She is survived by sons, Dean (Richelle), Nelson (Jacquelyn), and Kevin (Amelia); sisters, Myrna Taira, Nancy Iimoto, Alice Matsuo, Kaz Okuhara, and Mildred Nakasone; brothers, Isamu and Roy Nakasone; grandchildren, Chad, Trisha, Jensen, Shayla, Cameron and Brayden; great-grandchildren Dylan, Jaren and Rylen Gesteuyala. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14TH AT HOSOI GARDEN MORTUARY. VISITATION 10 11 A.M. SERVICES AT 11A.M. WITH RECEPTION TO FOLLOW.
