ALICE EMIKO FURUMOTO
ALICE EMIKO FURUMOTO Alice Emiko Furumoto, 87, passed away on Tuesday, August 27. At her request, there was a private family service on August 31. During her years in Iowa, Alice was involved with promoting the arts of Van Buren County and the state of Iowa, was an advocate for the improvement of the Van Buren school system, and supported the Keosauqua Congregational Church. In addition to raising five children, she was an avid artist. Her creativity expressed itself in fabrics, wool, clay, oils, acrylics and watercolors. Her works are enjoyed and treasured by family and friends. She led an active life traveling, painting, and enjoying an eclectic variety of music and interests. Surviving are her 5 children and 3 grandchildren. Alice affected many people and will be remembered with great admiration.
