JARRETT F. (DEKE) CARR Jarrett F. (Deke) Carr, 91 passed away September 18 at home. He was born in Berkeley, California on November 21, 1921, son of Grace and Sidney Carr. His family moved to Hawaii in 1922. Jarrett was a WWII Veteran, a retired Hawaiian Airlines pilot and also a fighter pilot with the 199th Fighter Squadron in the Hawaii Air National Guard. He was owner of Carr's Carpet Cleaners. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lou Esther, children Sharon Dailey (and Ted) of Portland, Orgeon, James Carr (and Cathy) of Makawao, Maui, Barbara Uno (and James) of Kailua, and Steven Carr (and Brenda) of Kaneohe. He is survived by 8 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Celebration of Life Service to be held at St. John Lutheran Church on Oct. 26 at 10:30 and internment at Hawaii Veterans Cemetary on Oct. 28 at 11:00. No flowers please, donations may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or St. John Lutheran Church.
