TSURUO TED SHIMAMOTO Also known as "Shima", 92, celebrated his heavenly birthday on September 10, 2013 at his Liliha home over-looking the garden he loved. He was born in Lawai, Kauai on August 11, 1921. He was the proprietor of United Equipment, Ltd. This strong, wise and generous man who loved the ocean and fishing, was respected by all who knew him. He was pre-deceased by son, Edwin Kazuo Shimamoto. He is survived by his wife, Kaoru "Caroline" Shimamoto; son, Chris (Sherri), daughter, Duana (Michael); grandchildren: Taryn , Kylen, Stetson, Kisha, Tiana, Krisheree, Ihilani (Kaimi), Ipolani and two great- grandchildren Hiwalani and Hokulani. His celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Visitation: 9:00 a.m. Service: 10:00 a.m. Inurnment: 1:00 p.m. at Nuuanu Memorial Park Cemetery.
