FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

BRUCE E. LLOYD
10-13 BRUCE E. LLOYDBRUCE E. LLOYD His family at his side, Bruce Lloyd, Honolulu, died peacefully on October 4, 2013. Bruce was born in Los Angeles, the youngest of three brothers and a younger sister. A well-read intelligent young Bruce Lloyd was lucky to be stationed in Germany during the Korean War. His time in Europe sparked a love for adventure that became a big part of his future life. The best part of the adventure began when he met Ginny who became his wife of 56 years. Greeted by Ginny's missionary family relatives here and on Maui, they arrived with son Mark from California in 1981 to start Joyce Selby Shoes Ala Moana. The store thrived for close to 20 years when Bruce influenced mainland manufacturers to start making wide shoes in smaller sizes for our local ladies. His nickname at the store was "The General" for his precise decisions. A lover of heated debate no topic was ignored: world events, literature, movies, sports trivia, or the fact that a 'Caesar salad is not one without anchovies!' He and Ginny travelled extensively over the years; realizing their bucket list goal delighting in a month long stay in a Tuscan villa. He is survived by his wife Virginia (Ginny), son Mark, and brother Jack and youngest sister Janice Clark. Services will be held at the Outrigger Canoe Club on October 16, 8:00 a.m.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
