VIOLET C. L. HEE Violet Charlotte Lee Hee, of Lihu`e passed away at her home on October 4, 2013, at the age of 97. She was born on O`ahu on March 25, 1916. She retired from a long career in education having taught at Hanama`ulu School and Waimea High School, then serving as an educational officer at the Department of Education's District Office in Lihu`e. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hong Min Hee, brothers Dr. Alexander (Vivian) Lee, Henry (Clara) Lee and grandson Rick L. Demaris. Shortly after her death, her sister, Mable (Kaipo) Cornwell of Honolulu passed away. She is survived by her three sons Stephen M. (Arlene) Hee of Brush Prairie, WA, Bob A. Hee of Waimea, Kaua`i and Randall J. (Nancy) of Kekaha, Kaua`i; three grandchildren Malia (Brian Flannery) Hee of Corvallis, OR, Noelani (Jeffery) Schille of Vancouver, WA and Puanani Hee of Kekaha, Kaua`i; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lihu`e with visitation from 8:00 a.m. and services celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua`i Memorial Gardens. Aloha attire. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family suggests donations be made to Catholic Charities Hawai`i, Kaua`i Community College (UHF Kaua`i CC) or Delta Kappa Gamma Eta Chapter.
