Queen Leinaale Akiu

Queen Leinaale Akiu, also known as "Aunty Ala," 72, of Waiohinu, Hawaii, a retired Naalehu Elementary and Intermediate School custodian, Alfred Shaheen Shirt Factory silk-screener and Dole Cannery packer, died at home. She was born in Waiohinu. She is survived by sons Augustine Jr., Sebastian and Kwai-Chang; daughter Yolan Ann Jardine; sister Marylyn Amoe Soto; and three grandchildren. Visitation and all-night vigil: 5 p.m. Friday at the family residence, 95-5538 Mamalahoa Highway, Naalehu, Hawaii. Additional visitation: 9 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kau Ward, Naalehu. Services: 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Naalehu Community Cemetery. Aloha attire. Flowers welcome.
