James Richard Akau Sr., 68, of Waianae died in Waianae. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Violet; sons James Jr., Jason and Dundee; brothers William and Paul; sisters Theresa Arreola, Georgiana Kaimuloa, Donna Carreiro and Marilyn Akau; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
