Daniel J. Shanefield, 83, of Honolulu, a professor emeritus at Rutgers University and an Army corporal who served in the Korean War, died in Arcadia Retirement Residence. He was born in Orange, N.J. He is survived by son Douglas H., daughter Alison B. Buckley and two grandchildren. Private services.
