Nanihau Mercedes "Nita" Kua, 85, of Keaukaha, Hawaii, a retired bartendress at Hilo Lanes Golden Room and cashier at the former Awili Store, died in Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Hilo. She is survived by sons John Jr., Clayton, Jonathan and Chris; daughters Natalie Hanson, Noleen Mendes, Crystal Kua-Bikle, Kimberly Kua-Medeiros and Beverly Kua; hanai son Clifton J.; hanai daughter Melissa Kua-Nachor; brothers Kelii, Kahuwila and Myles Ioane; sisters Noelani Kapuni and Barbara Manuwa; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at Heritage Christian Fellowship, 165 E. Kawili St., Suite B, Hilo. Services: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Section 4. Casual attire. No flowers.
