John E.K. Akana, 94, of Hana, Maui, a Kamehameha Schools teacher and dean of students, and Hawaii Government Employees Association educational trainer and deputy director, died in Upcountry Maui. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by sons Puni and Keoni, daughters Leilani Ramsey and Puanani Akana, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: 1 p.m. Saturday at Bernice Pauahi Bishop Memorial Chapel, Kamehameha Schools Kapalama.
