CAROLINE MEDEIROS KURETCAROLINE MEDEIROS KURET Caroline Medeiros Kuret, 86, of Honolulu, died on January 6, 2014 at her residence in Kaimuki. She was born December 21, 1927 in Kekaha, Kaua'i. She was the youngest of 12 children of Manual Gabriel Medeiros and Eliza Furtado. She attended school in Kekaha and Kaimuki. In 1947, she married Solomon Campbell Jr, lived in Kaimuki and had five children together. She later married Rudolph H. Kuret, who predeceased her in 1985. Caroline worked in the Housekeeping Department at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in the 1960s and later was employed and eventually retired as a Supervisor of Housekeeping at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. She was proud of her work at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel and loved her co-workers. Caroline attended St. Patrick's Church in Kaimuki. She frequently read the Bible and tried her best to seek God's counsel and follow God's Word. Caroline loved to dance hula and was fond of Hawaiian music. She inspired many of her offspring to sing and play in the old Hawaiian way. She would scold them when they sang songs not to her liking. She treasured her trips to Las Vegas and actually hit a couple jackpots! Caroline was exceedingly generous and she enjoyed giving money, jewelry and other gifts to her loved ones. Caroline adored her siblings and their families and stayed in close contact with her extended Kauai family. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She cherished the family gatherings and loved attending the athletic activities of her offspring. She is survived by four of her five children: Bernie Campbell, Gary Campbell (Kathleen), Robert Campbell (Laurel) and Bruce Campbell (Jean). She was predeceased by her daughter Clara Olds (Mark). Caroline is also survived by her sister Hilda Silva (Edward) and 12 Grandchildren: Sandi Siple, Mike Siple (Arlene), Tara Ornellas (Kino), Ikaika Olds (Tracy Konn); Alohi Madrigal (Eric), Mehana Campbell, Kalani Campbell, Nainoa Campbell (Dara Waialae); Makana Campbell; BJ 'Olu Campbell, TC Campbell and JT Campbell. She is also survived by 7 Great Grandchildren: Jordan Siple, Nicole Garcia, Aaron Michael Siple, Tia, Max and Emi Ornellas, Kinohinale Campbell and 2 Great Great Grandchildren: Naiya Siple (Jordan) and Austin Moore (Nicole). Visitation Monday, January 20, 2014 at St. Patrick's Church, from 9:00 - 10:30 am; Mass at 10:30 am. Private Burial. No Flowers. Aloha Attire.
