HENRY ELIA "KALANA" KAMAE, JR.
HENRY ELIA KALANA KAMAE, JR. "Uncle" Henry Elia "Kalana" Kamae Jr, 72 of Long Beach, CA passed away Wed. Jan. 8, 2014. Born July 27, 1941 in Honolulu, HI to Maraea and Henry Kamae Sr. One of 7 siblings, the Kahuku HS Grad class of '59 served missions for the LDS church, building the PCC and Temple in Laie; proselyting to Hong Kong and Philippines. A resident of California for the last 40 years, He played and taught ukulele with a passion. A musical life sharing joy with many. Deeply rooted in Hawaiian Culture he spread Aloha where ever he went. Henry served his church for many years calling LDS Long Beach 7th ward his home. He is survived by wife of 31 years, Liz Kamae, 8 children, 17 grand, Brothers Kenneth and Kane Kamae and the whole Kamae Ohana. A memorial service held Sat. Jan 18 in Long Beach, CA Internment at Green Hills in Rancho PV. Donations graciously accepted at giveforward.com, Uncle Henry Kamae Memorial Fund.
