FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Dr. Narendra K. Saxena
DR. NARENDRA K. SAXENA 77, passed away on December 24, 2013. He was born in Agra, India; studied in Germany and Austria; and was a professor at the University of Hawaii-Manoa for 30 years. He taught in the Department of Civil Engineering and was a professor and director of the Pacific Mapping Program in the UH's School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST). Dr. Saxena was founding editor of the international scientific journal, Marine Geodesy, and founder of PACON International (Pacific Congress on Marine Science and Technology), an organization that promotes Pacific understanding and cooperation in marine science and technology. Dedicated and innovative, he was a great mentor to many students and scientists. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and colleagues. Dr. Saxena is survived by his wife, two daughters, brother, and grandson. A memorial service is currently being planned. Those interested in more information may contact lorelle@thesaxenaclinic.com.
