81Virginia Thurston Santmyer, 100, of Kailua-Kona, a retired AT&T telephone operator, died in Life Care Center of Kona. She was born in Santa Ana, Calif. She is survived by sons Charles and Stephen, daughters Gretchen Newlon and Doris Radice, seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Private services.
