David Thomas DeRego, 85, of Honokaa, Hawaii, a retired Hamakua Sugar Co. heavy equipment operator, died in North Hawaii Community Hospital. He was born in Waianae. He is survived by wife Roseline; sons Leslie, Gary and Jeffrey; daughter Lisa Rodrigues; brothers William and Jim Doherty; sisters Nancy DeRego, Irene Rosa and Carol Carvalho; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Honokaa. Mass: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Honokaa Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire.
