72Elbert Henry Gunter, 97, of Honolulu, a retired Honolulu Police Department sergeant, died in Honolulu. He was born in Hastings, Okla. He is survived by daughters Nancy Carol Vanderslice and Portia May Fukuoka, sister Violet Howard, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Scattering of ashes at a later date.
