JOAN B. SCHULTZ Ended her nearly six year fight against breast cancer when she passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, Saint Francis Hospice, Manoa Cottages in Kaimuki. Joan was born in Buffalo, N.Y., the only child of Franklin and Albertine Baehre. She and her mother moved to Miami, where Joan graduated from Miami High School before enrolling at Bob Jones University, majoring in Radio Production and Elementary Education and graduating with a BA and MA. Joan met her husband, Paul O. Schultz at College and moved to Southern California where she worked for Young and Rubicam Advertising Agency. Joan and Paul moved to Honolulu in 1964, where she worked with Pan Am, first in reservations and then in sales administration for 26 years. She then worked the same length of time in administration at Reyn-Spooner, until the end of January 2014. A Celebration of her life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu at Ko'olau, on Saturday morning, March 15, at 10 a.m. Charitable donations may be given to First Presbyterian Church Music Department in her honor. Punchbowl Cemetery services will be held Tuesday, March 18, at 11:30 a.m. Joan was an incredibly strong, capable and gracious woman who is so missed by her devoted husband and many friends.
