HERTA MARIA ZARNIKOW STEVENS Herta was born in Mulheim Ruhr-Broich, Germany, in 1909. She died March 7th. 104! In her twenties Herta moved to Berlin where she met her future husband, Marquis E. Stevens (Steve), who studied medicine at the University of Berlin. He proposed. She traveled to Honolulu by steamship leaving Germany in 1939, arriving in the same year to be married to Steve. She is survived by her sister, Edithe in Germany, 3 daughters - Susan Wunderlich, Heidi Masters, and Sabrina Stevens, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was an avid golfer and oldest member of Oahu Country Club. She loved to cook. She played bridge with the same group of women for over 60 yrs. She led a long and spirited life.
