78Brenda Lee "Bren" Mendoza, 53, of Honomalino, Hawaii, a homemaker, an upholstery assistant and owner of Rainbow Cottage preschool, died in Ka'u Hospital. She was born in Vancouver, Wash. She is survived by husband Ben; sons Preston and Darren Mendoza, Eric Aoki and Troy Wood; daughters Alicia Kay and Chelsea Mendoza; brothers Tim, Dale and Nathan Wood; sisters Marsha Isaacs, Diana Akau, Karen Batsell and Kim Murillo; and 11 grandchildren. Celebration of life: noon Saturday at Hookena Beach Park. Casual attire.
