Morris Isamu Kihara, 93, of Hilo, a retired postmaster at the Papaikou Post Office, an Army veteran who served in the 100th Infantry Battalion, Company C, during World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Congressional Gold Medal, died in Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by daughters Patricia Simonsen, Janice Kihara and Susan Bennett; sister Shizuko Ikawa; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation: 3 p.m. Sunday at the Church of the Holy Apostles, 1407 Kapiolani St., Hilo. Services: 4 p.m. Casual attire. In lieu of flowers and monetary offerings, donations suggested to Easter Seals Hawaii in Hilo or Church of the Holy Apostles.
