SIDNEY KATSUTO KUROSAWA 77, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on March 14, 2014 at the Queen's Medical Center. Sid was born in Honolulu to Junkichi (d.) and Michiyo (d.) Kurosawa on September 29, 1936. He attended Kaimuki High School and graduated in 1954. After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, he attended the Stenographic Institute. He worked for the U.S. Navy/Department of Defense at Barber's Point, Bureau of Yards & Docks, later known as Commander, Pacific Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command. After 30+ years of service, he retired in 1991. He also worked for the City & County of Honolulu, Department of Corporation Counsel, Family Support Division for 8 years, retiring in 2003. He is survived by wife Edna K.; brothers Wayne (Jane), Roy (Francine (d.)); sisters Phyllis (Nobu (d.)) Komori, Barbara (Joe (d.)) Fukumoto, Judy (d.) (Yasu) Fujisaki, Lorraine (Herbert (d.)) Nanbu, Jeanie (John) Muranaka; daughters Sheryl (Craig Uradomo) Takara and Debbie (Scott) Sakata; grandson Bryce Takara; numerous nieces and nephews. Private services were held. No monetary offerings.
