RICHARD SEIICHI TAMASHIRO March 31, 2014 Richard "Sonny" "Tama" Tamashiro, age 66, of Honolulu passed away peacefully at his home with family in attendance. He was a valuable member of the University of Hawaii deep ocean exploration team, a small boat builder, commercial fisherman, and the owner and builder of Da Opailolo II. He is survived by his wife Elaine, father Seihan, son Sean, daughter-in-law Eileen, daughter Kristine, grandsons Trevor and Brennan, brother Ray, and sisters Karen Sumida and Laura Mizumoto. Family and close friends joined to scatter his ashes into waters near Diamond Head, on April 5.
