DENIS TAEKO SATO IZUKA Age 85, of Honolulu, a retired registered nurse at Chock-Pang Clinic, went peacefully on April 5, 2014 at the Hale Malamalama Care Home. Born in Lahaina October 20, 1928, she is survived by husband Henry T. Izuka, daughter Judi Izuka (Ron) Campbell, sons Scot (Christy) Izuka, PhD, and Roger Izuka, sisters Gayle Zukeran and Jean Shoji, grandchildren Brandon Izuka and Tori Campbell (Matthias) Sigmund, and many beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Denis was a hard worker, a nurturing care-giver and natural teacher. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and entertaining generations of kids. Our family would like to especially thank the nurses and staff and Hale Malamalama Care Home in Kuliouou and the nurses and staff of Island Hospice who loved and cared for Mom for the past two years. We will be forever grateful for all that they have done to make her happy and comfortable. Memorial services (private) to be held at Hosoi Mortuary, Sunday, April 27 at 11:00 a.m.
