COLONEL JAMES R. ASHFORD 90, died peacefully at home in Independence, OR on April 9, 2014. He was born in Honolulu on July 13, 1923 to Huron and Lillian Ashford. He graduated from Punahou in 1941. During World War II, Jim served as a fighter pilot and later was a member of the Hawaii Air National Guard where he retired as Commander of the 154th Fighter Group.
