Bruce Mills Buchanan, also known as "Bud" and "Boompa," 97, of Honolulu, a retired Coast Guard chief warrant officer, died in Honolulu. He was born in Ava, Mo. He is survived by daughter Caroline Moniz, six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Tuesday at Diamond Head Mortuary.
