HENRY "HANK" CEDILLOS
5-9 HENRY CEDILLOS b&wHENRY HANK CEDILLOS Henry "Hank" Cedillos, beloved father and husband died peacefully on April 12, 2014 at the age of 90 at Avalon Nursing Home in Honolulu, Hawaii. Hank was born in 1923 in Los Angeles, California and served in the United States Marine Corps in World War II and in the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Southern California where he played baseball for the Trojans on their 1948 national championship team. After graduating Hank worked as a coach in the Los Angeles City School System before embarking on a career in sales with General Tire. Hank moved to Hawaii in 1960 and continued his career in sales with Melim Company and later with his own company, Tire Broker. Hank loved Hawaii and its people and had many friends and associates during his time in Hawaii. He had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a hand to help people. His optimistic, positive nature and never say die spirit carried him through a full and active life. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his sons Steve Cedillos, of Honolulu, Phillip Cedillos of Maui, and his daughters Lola Cohen, Laurie Foster Julie Wong and Krissy Cedillos of Honolulu and Lynn Cruz of Issaquah, WA. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A private service will be held at Star of the Sea Church. Hank will be interred at Punchbowl National Cemetery. May he rest in peace as he is reunited with his beloved wife Val in the next world.
