ALVIN TERUO KOBAYASHI Alvin Teruo Kobayashi, 71, of Honolulu, former President and Chief Operations Officer of Oahu Construction Co., Ltd. passed away on April 25, 2014. He was dedicated to the construction industry, contributing countless hours to help strengthen and better the industry in which he was involved in for over 50 years. As a management trustee, he served on various industry trust funds, and as Chairman of the Hawaii Operating Engineers Industry Stabilization Fund. He also served on trust funds with the Hawaii Masons Union and was a former Chairman of the State of Hawaii Contractors Licensing Board. As a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, he always supported his family's endeavors to the fullest. He passed from this life as he lived it, with dignity, extraordinary strength and unfaltering conviction and is survived by his wife, Myrtle L. Kobayashi; sons Ryan K. and Chad A. (Kellie L.) Kobayashi; grandchildren Krysta, Cody, Keely, Kai, Cameron and Kellen Kobayashi; sisters Sandra Chun and Jacqueline Maruyama; nieces and nephews. Private family services held.
