She is survived by husband Henry "Riley"; sons Jarves and Ryan Root; daughter Maile Keliihoomalu-Tay; mother Kiyoko Root; brothers Richard, John and Garton Root; sisters Nina Otsuka and Carol Herolaga; and 13 grandchildren.
