Joseph Thomas McAlister, 76, of Honolulu, a music teacher for the University of Hawaii music department, Hawaii Loa College and Punahou School, director of education for the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra, executive director for the Hawaii International Choral Festivals and Oahu Choral Society, Honolulu Symphony Chorus manager and Honolulu Chorale music director, and an Army veteran, died in Honolulu.
