George A.L. YuenGEORGE A.L. YUEN January 9, 1920-June 7, 2014 Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, George Ah Leong Yuen attended Royal and Kawananakoa schools. He graduated from McKinley High School, attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and graduated from the University of Michigan with degrees in civil, sanitary and structural engineering. He pursued three careers, first as engineer, becoming Manager & Chief Engineer of the Honolulu Board of Water Supply; then as Director of the Hawaii State Department of Health; and finally, in business as President of Mink & Yuen, Inc. Mr. Yuen was president of the Lung Doo Benevolent Society, the United Chinese Society, served as junior and senior wardens of St. Andrew's Episcopal Cathedral, and was a member of the Elks Club, Rotary Club and the Hawaii Yacht Club. Mr. Yuen is survived by his wife, Eugenia; daughters Lenora (John Peters), Georgia Yamashita (Scott) and Laura; grandchildren Nicholas and Chloe Peters, and Emily and Catherine Yamashita; nieces and nephews.
