77Valerie Theresa Kossow, 89, of Kailua-Kona, a telephone operator during World War II and a former head statistician for NASA at Huntington Beach, Calif., died in a private care facility. She was born in Los Angeles. She is survived by son Glenn, sister Margaret Kanov, a grandchild and three great-grandchildren. Services and burial: noon Friday at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery.
