LARRY CARRASCOLARRY CARRASCO Larry Carrasco (64) died peacefully at home on June 28, 2014, with his wife at his side after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Larry was born in San Diego and raised in Tijuana, Mexico, and Phoenix, Arizona. In Phoenix, he was a carpenter with TGK Construction and a championship sailboat racer with his childhood friend, Bill Jennings. As a young man, Larry loved to surf in Mexico and go camping with friends throughout Arizona. In 1976, Larry moved to Hawai'i to marry Mona Bernardino, his wife of 37 years. In Hawai'i, Larry was active in the printing industry, working at Tongg Publishing and other shops and eventually becoming a printing consultant. In his semi-retirement years, he returned to his first love: carpentry. Larry was a champion racquetball player, winning several Aloha State Games tournaments with Les Peters, his racquetball partner of 20 years. He also liked to golf and was an avid card player at family gatherings. He will be remembered for his fun personality and the strong relationships he maintained with his friends over the years. As one of his best friends, George Soiles, said, "Larry collected people." A celebration of Larry's life will take place on Friday, July 18, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 1525 Waimano Home Road, Pearl City. Visitation at 9:00 a.m. and Mass at 10:000 a.m. Although we miss Larry dearly, we send him with love on the next part of his journey.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
