ROCHELLE SHELLY SYPOWICZ Rochelle "Shelly" Sypowicz, loving wife, mother, grand- mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2014 in Los Angeles, CA. She is survived by her son, Russell (Angela), and grandson, Noah. Rochelle was born in Bronx, NY on April 19, 1947. She worked in the promotions department of the New York Times Newspaper prior to moving to Hawaii in 1986. Her career continued with the State Department of Education, where she worked as a clerk typist and crossing guard. She cherished her close friends at Waikiki Elementary School, where she worked for a number of years until her retirement. She volunteered her time with a variety of youth sports organizations as well as with the Sounds of Aloha Barbershop Chorus. A memorial service and lunch is scheduled for friends and family on Saturday, July 26 at 11:00 am at Waikiki Elementary School.
