Harold Tavares Ferreira, 83, of Hilo, a retired state Department of Transportation Highways Division highway inspector and a retired Hawaii Army National Guard sergeant, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by son Mark, daughters Haroldeen Quintal and Natalie Veriato, sisters Lorreta Kim and Lucille Scarborough, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo. Mass: 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
