73Barbara Jean Smith-Kapela, 77, of Captain Cook, Hawaii, a legal secretary and paralegal for Jewell and Krueger Law Offices, died at home. She was born in Glendale, Calif. She is survived by husband Paul Kapela, son Kimo Kapela, daughter Keahi Kapela, stepson Todd Kapela, sister Joan Johnson and nine grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Sept. 20 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Keei ward. Services: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park, Holualoa. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
