CAPTAIN WILLIAM HARVEY DALTON
CAPTAIN WILLIAM HARVEY DALTON Captain William Harvey Dalton, Judge Advocate General's Corps, U.S. Navy (Retired) passed away peacefully at his home in Madison County, VA on 11 September 2014. Born April 4, 1940 in Forest City, NC, he earned a BA in 1962 and a JD in 1965 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, after which he was commissioned a Lieutenant (junior grade) in the U.S. Navy, where he served with distinction for 30 years. CAPT Dalton served several tours in Hawaii, including Executive Officer, Naval Legal Service Office, Pearl Harbor, HI and Staff Judge Advocate to the Commander, U.S. Pacific Command, Camp Smith, HI. CAPT Dalton is survived by his daughter, Jessica Dalton Davis (Michael) of Honolulu, HI and his wife of 24 years, Jane Gilliland Dalton, of Madison, VA, along with many other family members. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison, with the interment following at Culpeper National Cemetery.
