CHARLES TATSUO HASEBE
CHARLES TATSUO HASEBE Charles "Charlie" Tatsuo Hasebe, age 96, of Kailua, Hawaii, passed away on September 9, 2014 in Honolulu. Born on August 25, 1918 in Kailua, O'ahu, Territory of Hawaii to Yokichi and Tami Hasebe. His parents were born in Fukushima, Japan. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3. He was also a farmer, fisherman, avid golfer and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather. He served in the United States Army during WWII and witnessed the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. Preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Natsuye Abe Hasebe, he is survived by son, Edwin (Barbara) Hasebe; daughters, Carolyn (Bob) Swartz, Frances Hasebe, and Loraine Hasebe; grandchildren, Dyani (Donnie) Hasebe, Natane (Woodley) Hasebe- Thompson, and Yumi Kristin Miyata; great-grandchildren, Braeden Tatsuo Hasebe, Nadine Nanea Thompson, Kaeden Norio Hasebe, and Woodley Irving Thompson III. Charlie is also survived by brother, Larry Yozo Hasebe; brothers-in-law, Hiroji Abe, and Takeshi (Mary) Abe; sisters-in-law, Shigeko Hasebe Abe, and Roberta Abe; and cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. Visitation 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 24 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary; Service at 3:00 p.m. Aloha/casual attire is suggested. Burial on Thursday, September 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery.
