HOMER KAAI HAYESHOMER KAAI HAYES Homer Kaai Hayes passed away peacefully at home August 15, 2014 with his loving wife and sister by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Kaai was born May 2, 1942 in Honolulu, Hi to Homer A. Hayes and Gwendolyn E. Hayes. He had a wide range of interests and careers. He had a private pilot license, a 100 ton boat license (Was the captain of the Ale Ale Kai & Hilton Hawaiian Village's catamaran's, 100' and 65' respectively) Kaai was a skilled sailor of the deep blue. He also appeared in several TV commercials, bit parts in TV shows and movies, raced sports cars, and practiced martial arts. Kaai founded Hayes Guard Service, Inc. in 1968, and later in life was the Director of Security at Hilton Hawaiian Village. In the 80's he and his wife Rosalie were dancers with the KDEO country dancers in Hawaii. When they moved to Nevada they owned a saloon in Virginia City. Kaai was also a deputy Sheriff in Storey County, NV., retiring in 1999. After moving to Medford, Oregon they started another business. He loved RVing, and working in the yard. He was a student of history, especially his family's Hawaiian history. Kaai was preceded in death by his parents. He was the grandson of Dr. Homer H. and Flora K.Hayes. He is survived by his wife Rosalie Hayes. His sons Bradley S. and Gavin M. Hayes by a previous marriage; Step- son Sean Gonsalves (Yupin) whom he regarded as a son; granddaughter's Gwendalyn and Brooklyn Hayes; Sister Rita Denis (Spike) and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday Oct 4th, 2014 at Oahu Cemetery, 2162 Nuuanu Ave., Honolulu.
