PEREGRINA NANETTE DONALDSON Age 61, of Aiea, Hawaii passed away peacefully in her home on September 5, 2014, after a brave struggle with leukemia. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 16 years, Frank Donaldson. She is survived by her siblings, Aurelio, Jr., Esperanza, Maria Elena, Jose Lito, Roberto, Jenny, Edwin, Delia, and Charlie, her youngest brother, Jonas, having already passed, her step-daughter, Diana Cheri Donaldson, and many nieces and nephews. Nanette was born in Tigbauan, Iloilo, Philippines on March 12, 1953. In 1985, she migrated to the United States, settling in Hawaii. She was a full time housewife to her husband and a businesswoman, managing her own real estate rental business in Hawaii. Nanette enjoyed travelling around the world with her friends and families. She enjoyed growing plants such as fruit trees, vegetables and flowers, especially orchids. She dedicated much of her life to being involved with the community. Nanette was everyone's proverbial auntie, sister, daughter and not to mention, proverbial friend. She continually gave her mana'o, kokua and aloha to everyone up until the time she passed. In lieu of flowers, Nanette had requested that donations be made in her name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, website address http://www.lls.org/. Memorial services and viewing will be held at Borthwick Mortuary, 1330 Maunakea Street on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Viewing begins at 5:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 pm. Funeral service will be on September 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Borthwick Mortuary. Committal service and internment will be at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe at 2:00 pm the same day, Sept 29th.
