BENJAMIN MOTAS BENJAMIN MOTAS, of Kailua, passed away on September 13, 2014 at the age of 79. Born in Pahala, HI he was a US Air Force veteran. Ben mentored many youths and adults through his work at the Boys and Girls Club of Honolulu, Hawaii Juvenile Detention Home, and the University of Hawaii, at Manoa. Preceded in death by parents: Vicente Najarda Motas and Elena Vallejo Motas; brother: Jose Motas. Survived by his wife: Barbara Motas; daughter: Debra Santiago; step-children: Christine (Earnest) Vasconcellos, Steven (Linda) Ennis, and Leslie Kealoha; brother: Vicente (Shirley) Motas, Jr.; sister: Maria (Merle) Grosskopf. He is also survived by grandchildren: Timothy Richardson; Torrey Santiago; Sienna Santiago; Heidi Benson; Tanya Kanani Benson; Barbara Leimomi Ennis; Natalie Keahi (PC) Taylor; Mary Kealoha; and great-grandchildren: Thaddeus Santiago; Cooper Benson; Angus Benson; Kristen Kawena Ennis; Katherine Kaku-Ennis; Brenson Ennis; Tejah Taylor; Mina Mamoe; Olivia Kealoha- Zimmerman; Ezra Zimmerman; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
