Fumiyo Yamanaka, 92, of Castro Valley, Calif., formerly of Hilo, a registered nurse and teacher at Waiakea and Hilo high schools, died in Castro Valley. She was born in Hilo. She is survived by daughters Velda “Maile†YamaÂnaka and Maxine Eisenberg, brother Shinichi Ebisuzaki, sister Sumie “Sue†Tajiri, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Apostles Church, 1407 Kapiolani St., Hilo. Services: 10 a.m. Aloha attire. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to Hospice of Hilo.
