78Esma Ruth Harper, 80, of Kailua, an Oceanic Institute executive secretary to the president, died in Kailua. She was born in Sydney. She is survived by daughters Angela S. Harper, Beverley J. Sambor and Sally A. Nicora; sister Dawn Smith; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Private services. Donations suggested to Islands Hospice.
