CLARA TOSHIKO NISHIOKA Our beloved Clara Toshiko Nishioka passed away peacefully at home early Wednesday morning, October 8, 2014. Born in Honolulu, she was a McKinley High School graduate in the Grand SlamYear of 1938. She was very talented in the areas of cooking, sewing, Japanese doll making, Ikebana, and Japanese tea ceremony. As an Army wife, she lived in Hakata and Tokyo, Japan; Tacoma, Washington; Monterey, California; and Baltimore, Maryland, before residing in Kailua, Hawaii. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Francis K. Nishioka; son, Clyde (Beverly) Nishioka of Maui; daughters, Sherron (John) Iopa of Hilo, and Lynnette Sakamoto of Kailua. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A service to celebrate her life will be held at Hosoi Garden Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2014. Visitation at 9:00 a.m. No flowers. Casual Attire.
