ROBERT RULE KENNYROBERT RULE KENNY Robert Rule Kenny, 80, passed away on October 9, 2014 at his home in Kaneohe. He was born on November 1, 1933 in Queens, New York. He was a graduate of Colgate University, worked as a lifeguard at Jones Beach and taught history at Punahou School. Early in his career, he was the Management Programs Coordinator for the Hawaii Employers Council. He went on to run a successful consulting firm in addition to being a well-respected Arbitrator. A proud Mustang Lt. Colonel, Robert honorably served his country for over 21 years, first as an active duty serviceman and later as a Reservist in the Marine Corps serving for a number of years as the Commanding Officer for 4th Force Recon Company of Honolulu. He epitomized "Once a Marine, always a Marine" and he thoroughly enjoyed a dram of scotch and a fine cigar. He is survived by his loving wife, Sydney Pietsch Kenny, sons Robert K. and Matthew D. Kenny, Tyler (Stephanie) Helbush, daughter Liza (John) W�cker, four awesome grand- daughters (Kate, Alexa, Samantha and Allyson), Sister Mary Louise Miller and a niece and two nephews. Private services will be held at Punchbowl National Cemetery. Bob's life and birthday will be celebrated on November 1, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Murphy's. Donations in Bob's name may be made to Fisher House Foundation and Friends of Windward Wounded Warriors c/o Navy League of Honolulu and U.S. VETS Inc. Org/Barbers Point.
