Emilio Baptista "Mel" Diaz, 88, of Ewa Beach, an Army veteran, retiree of the U.S. Officers Club Restaurant System and manager of the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Restaurant, died in Ewa Beach. He was born in Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. He is survived by son Norbert M.; daughter Myrna-lyn D. Abang; brothers Victor Diaz and Juan Sarian; sisters Resurreccion D. Pecpec, Clarita and Peregrina Diaz, and Helen and Socorra Pagdilao; and three grandchildren. Visitation: 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Services: 6:30 p.m. Inurnment: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mililani Memorial Park. Blue attire.
